He rolled his eyes at her rambling. ‘Sheesh. What’s with her?’ “Uh, whatever,” he placed his hands in his pockets, uninterested. “I pointed it out because it was just in the spur of the moment.”

”’Spur of the moment’ Yes, that’s what they all say.”

”’Whatever’? You should be thankful that I’m gracing you with such words, I’m even showing enough courtesy to hold a discussion with you, despite your… flaws.”
sharpteeth-sharpertongue:
He shrugs nonchalantly, “We are who we are.”

“Exactly. So why is it you chose to point out my fondness for myself? I honestly think the world is becoming far too pessimistic. Some people who could be worth something, doubt themselves non-stop for the pettiest things, and believing that one’s self is useless is what, in turn, makes them useless. Those who believe they can do nothing, only try to prove that to themselves by doing nothing. I think a little self-praise is what the world needs.” Yes Juliana and you give yourself enough self praise to make up for everyone else who doesn’t.
sharpteeth-sharpertongue:
“Oh nothin’,” he waved his hand dismissively. Wasn’t his problem how she wanted to act.

“Tsk, if you say so. You seem to think quite highly of yourself too, unless I’m mistaken. Not all men would have so boldly tried to ‘hit on’ all the women he sees. It takes self-confidence for that sort of thing.”

Scanty nodded in agreement. “Although the ones in high class do deserve to be called something honorable and polite, I do not know. I believe I still carry some of my sister’s shyness with me and feel too pushed when I am called something other than Scanty… I am just too used to it.
What are you usually called by, then? Shall I need to use a surname?”
Juliana hadn’t given this much thought, but, thinking back to how things were at Lanseal, people tended to use her first name, whether she liked it or not, so it didn’t take her long to decide.
“I suppose just “Juliana” works fine. That was what most people back at the academy called me, some I would have preferred if they didn’t address me at all, but yes, that’ll do.”

julianaeverhart:
“My type? My type should be a type who most should strive towards.” No Juliana. They really shouldn’t.
“If my type isn’t one that interests you, I worry for your well-being.” A hint of sarcasm could be heard in her last statement, her worry hardly seemed genuine, and one wouldn’t really expect it to be.
He snorts, “Well, someone sure thinks they’re something special.”

Juliana just gave him an expectant look.
“And your point would be…?”

There was no objection there, like she was openly aware of how full of herself she was. Her expression seemed to be saying; ‘Well done for stating the obvious.’
demonchicks:
At last, someone who was actually this respectful of Scanty’s culture! And she was willing to use her first name despite it not being so common for her. Maybe she could get to be a bit of a snob at sometimes with that personality, Scanty thought, but still nice!
And she had brought up high class again.
“And why would they help, exactly?”
“Well isn’t that obvious?”

“A woman of class is a respectable one. I find it easier to use the first names of those who are respectable to some degree, you wouldn’t find me addressing some lowlife, uneducated fool in such a friendly manner after all. Of course, Surnames are also seen as a polite way to refer to those you are yet to grow fully acquainted with yet. Either way, you know what I mean now? Let’s just hope you live up to that statement.”
demonchicks:
“Then I thank you for accepting my apology. I-It would be quite against the ruuuruuus for us to argue over something with good intentions, right? Heh…heh…right.”
At the mention of her name Scanty shrugged; she didn’t like it all that much when anyone who wasn’t her sister called her something besides ‘Scanty’. It was somewhat distasteful and awkward, but she couldn’t fight it so much.
“No, my last name is Demon, but I really prefer just Scanty…” The angels weren’t called using their last names often, too.
That was a second name that Juliana wasn’t too sure if she should use or not, as she tended to refer to people by their surnames, this, however, would have to be an exception. “Very well, I’ll refer to you as you ask. Consider yourself fortunate, I don’t often use first names.”

“I suppose your mention of being ‘high class’ helps however.”

Pyro shakes his/her head more violently this time. “Noh.”

“For goodness sake, do you desire to hide your own face so strongly? Fine, but your failure to introduce yourself politely doesn’t shine so brightly.” Despite however polite the Pyro was under that mask, Juliana was blind to it…

“Fine by me. I don’t like chasing after your type.”
